Federal Reserve Community Development Perspectives How can coordination of small business support organizations, capital providers, and new market opportunities be enhanced? Enhanced coordination among banks, CDFIs, and related entities can improve referrals for rejected bank borrowers who might otherwise qualify for CDFI loans. There is also an opportunity to forge better connections between entities with local procurement opportunities (for example, hospitals or local government agencies) and small businesses, technical assistance providers, and capital sources. CD staff are exploring a more strategic approach to support small businesses by advancing commercial corridor revitalization initiatives, developing links to employment for targeted groups such as veterans, and strengthening government support through procurement development. For readers of this report seeking more information about Federal Reserve CD activities related to these issues, visit the "Small Business" section of FedCommunities.org. This portion of the site features a number of resources focused on small business access to credit and capital, entrepreneurship, and much more. The site features an interactive search tool and allows users to sign up for notifications when new resources become available. 22
